About Us
Countrywide Austral (CWA) combines two leading custom media companies, Countrywide Media and Austral Media. Both companies have over a decade of experience producing special interest magazines, handbooks, journals and other publications.
Countrywide Media was founded in 1998 by Tony Cornish and Chris Pierlot (current board directors of CWA) for the purpose of profit sharing and publishing products for volunteer community based groups and organisations. Since that time, they have held long term contracts with various Police departments throughout Australia and New Zealand, and State Emergency Service Volunteer Associations of Australia. The company also published journals for local affiliates of national organisations such as Neighbourhood Watch.
Austral Media was also founded in the late 1980's and it too specialised in producing journals for emergency service and non-profit organisations. Its solid roster of clients such as United Firefighters Union of Australia and Australian Federal Police Association were mostly long term clients with over 10 years of partnership with AustralMedia.
The recent merge of these two companies into CWA, sees the company now producing over 100 printed products per year seen by 200,000 people-plus, Australia wide. In addition, the company has a strategy in place to expand its service offering to clients in the very near future with the creation of online community groups and web resource centres. This will enable associations and special interest groups to better organise, interact, educate and influence their members and the public on important social, political and environmental issues.
